Reaching out

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'" Romans 10:14-15 NIV

Testimony: God has always been there for me

December, 2010

God has always been there for me. But I have not always been there for him.

Over the last few years, life has gotten really tough for me. I have called out to God for him to help me a lot more.

At first I didn’t feel that God was helping me. Then in God’s own time he made himself known in my life. I became more spiritual. I also started feeling the Holy Spirit inside me.

The first time I had been in jail for a long period of time, I got saved. I started going to church every now and then. I also started praying more often than not.

But I was still living in sin. I was doing these sinful things but I wasn’t enjoying them like I used to. I knew, deep down in my heart that I wasn’t doing those good things that God wanted me to do. God wanted me on another path.

And for the first time in my life I wanted to please my heavenly father.

Since I have been saved, God has led me several different ways.

He led me to turn myself in to the jail instead of running from my consequences.

He is also leading me to take action through reading his Word and practicing what is righteous and holy.

I now enjoy life more because I accept Christ and His word in my life. For the first time in a long time I have hope. Hope that I will be in my children’s lives again. Hope that my life will be more than just hurt and sin.

Because I have accepted Him into my life, I have peace in my heart no matter how desperate or chaotic the situation is.

Then I can turn to my neighbor in fellowship and offer them help or a kind word. I can also tell them how much life has changed for the better since I’ve found Jesus Christ.
